So you want a six-pack stomach? Well, good for you for deciding that you need to do something to be healthy and look better. This article will show you exercises for six packs, but you should remember that the abdominal muscles are the hardest to work; and you could have the strongest abdominal muscles in the world, but if you have too much fat, it will never show!
To begin building your six-pack, you should start with a balanced diet, eat more fiber, and drink lots of water. This will help you burn fat, and increase your metabolism. Burning fat will help rid your body of the fat that conceals your abdominal muscles.
Here are some exercises for six-pack development:
Crunches. This half-sit up move will focus on the abdominals more so than a sit-up will. Never let your head return all the way to the floor before beginning another rep. Do a few sets of 25 reps each day for good results.
Butterfly Crunches. This is a variation of the standard crunch that will have you twisting from side to side instead of going straight up. Twisting from side to side will allow your oblique muscles to be worked, instead of your main central abdominal muscles. This will add balance to the overall six-pack.
Sit-Ups. These will focus on all areas of the abdominal muscles instead of the central ones that are called on by the crunch. Do a few sets of 25 reps each day for good results.
The Bicycle. This move was voted the scientifically most effective exercise for the abdominal muscles. Lying on the floor in a crunch position, bring your legs up and start a bicycle pedaling motion. Bring your body up to your knees, touching your elbow to the opposite knee and alternate with each rep.
Leg Lifts. Lying down in a crunch position, straighten your legs and lift them up off the floor keeping your butt flat, no more than 90 degrees. This will strengthen your lower abdominal muscles.
All of these exercises will help you tone your abdominal muscles and earn that six-pack you are looking for. However, the most important thing to remember when trying to build a six-pack is to realize that it will take time, and dedication. You will have to stay motivated and stick with your program if you ever want to see any result at all. Stick with it though, and you will have the six-pack you so desire!
