There are many products in the market that claim they are necessary for someone wanting to build serious muscle.  Some supplements contain creatine, glutamine, nitric oxide, and amino acids, just to name a few.  The truth is, your body produces everything that you need to build, strengthen and sustain muscle mass.

Buying many supplements because you think they will help you build muscle faster is just a waste of money and probably not too great for your body when all combined all the time.  If you are wanting to take any supplements at all, either before or after your muscle workout, you should probably stick to only one or two that stack well.  Creatine is good for people who already have muscle mass but are looking to increase it.  Glutamine helps improve muscle recovery.  Nitric oxide increases blood flow to transport more nutrients to the muscles.  Amino acids are like building blocks for protein, they help aid in repair, growth and increase of muscle tissue.  Before taking any kind of supplement however, you should research its ingredients, consult your doctor and only use as directed.  Some supplements are to be taken before a workout where others are designed for post workout muscle repair.
