While some shortcuts to gaining muscle quickly are not always healthy, here a few tips that can help you gain muscle the healthy way.  Eating right is a good way to condition your body to use energy during your workouts.  Eat carbohydrates to fuel your body and eat a lot of protein to help build and repair muscle.  Generally, you should consume 1 gram of protein for every pound of body weight.  Also you can increase your calorie intake to help you gain more quickly.

Stay away from sugar and fatty foods because these will hinder muscle gain.  To maximize your results for your workout effort, you should do compound exercises using free weights and your own body weight.  These include push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, squats, bench press and dead lifts.  You should workout about 4 days a week and allow your body time to rest so your muscles can repair and get stronger.  Adjust your workout routine every week to continuously work the muscles.  Add more weight and repetitions to fatigue the muscles.  The more weight you can lift in a single workout, the faster you will gain muscle.  Slow and steady with heavy weights and plenty of rest in between workouts is really the best way to gain muscle the healthy way.
